Aquamarines International was established four decades ago, by a young
diver cum micro-entrepreneur, venturing in to a pioneering business
sector of ornamental fish breeding and export. It all started in 1963
as a backyard operation, facing blue sea waves, within a suburb town, Ratmalana 10 Km. from capital Colombo in Sri Lanka. Today, the small
business, has achieved robust growth reaching new heights, thro’ an
inspiring and daunting leadership provided to a highly professional
team by Ananda Pathirana, founder Chairman& CEO of Aquamarines
International. The company, in the midst of fierce competition has
successfully expanded in to major export markets by raising high
quality standards and diversifying the product-mix meeting with the
